Signature Keynotes

Community and Connection

Building Healthy Community and Personal Relationship

How do we create strong, inclusive, and durable social structures in today’s fragmented world? This keynote explores how to design community with intention—drawing from spiritual wisdom, lived experience, and emerging science.

The Harvard Study of Adult Development consistently shows that connection is the greatest predictor of health and happiness. Yet modern life isolates us—through technology, income silos, and the erosion of traditional structures that once bridged class and status.

Christopher is the founder of The More in Common Dinner Club and host of Baron's America: More in Common—projects born from a desire to rebuild the social fabric. His talks explore how we create authentic connection, belonging, and resilient communities in both physical and digital spaces.

Mental Fitness

Self-Knowledge, Capability, Stress Management, Resilience

An exploration of resilience from multiple angles—historical, biological, and emotional. Participants leave with tools to meet challenges, build grit, and recover stronger.

While resilience and mindset are partially genetic, there’s far more to the story. A World War II study revealed that older soldiers had higher survival rates—not because of superior physicality, but because they’d already endured and overcome earlier challenges. They knew survival was possible and believed they could influence the outcome. This insight became foundational to the creation of Outward Bound.

Today, resilience is more critical than ever. In a culture of comfort, convenience, and digital disconnection, many lack the skills to navigate adversity. Christopher deliberately sought out difficult physical and psychological experiences—and during the pandemic, he saw just how vital that mindset was. He shares not only the why, but also the how.

Physical Fitness as Routine

Strength, Endurance and Longevity

Basic physical strength and cardiovascular fitness are not complicated or difficult to achieve. Yet nationally a large percentage of Americans are not fit and in fact are obese.

As Chris witnessed one news article after another describing our worsening health, Chris realized his friends and neighbors were almost universally fit and active.

What was the divide?

In many instances it was simply that they had been active solo athletes from childhood. While they may have played team sports in high school or college, those typically waned.

But they continued bicycle riding, swimming, running or hiking, playing tennis, etc. Their early habits stuck and as they aged were woven into their daily routines.

None mentioned will power or even necessarily a fitness goal. Rather, "exercise" was pleasant and an activity they enjoyed. And often, it served the dual purpose of being a social touchpoint.

Crafting accessible and achievable fitness goals is in Chris' experience more dependent upon early habit formation, enoying the chosen activity, and a social component than a focus on losing weight or achieving other metrics.

Healthspan

A Model for Human Thriving

A keynote that challenges myths about aging, explores the social determinants of health, and reveals what it really takes to live long and well.

Christopher has lived in America’s Blue Zones—San Diego, Boulder, Aspen, and Crested Butte—where 70-, 80-, and 90-year-olds ski, hike, and swim regularly. In stark contrast to much of the country, these communities reflect the reality that healthspan—living well without chronic disease—is possible and accessible.

He explores how geography, friendship circles, mindset, and movement affect longevity and how we can design lives that support sustained vitality and purpose.
"Write about and teach mindset. You've impressed us with yours.
I opened a door, and you walked through it. Many don't"
